Eden Park Raceway
History
Eden Park Raceway has been resurrected from the well known and successful club Eden Park Overlanders. Having closed its gates in 1999 due to vandalism and difficulties with management of the landlords, a few of us have spent many years hoping we can bring it back. With only a few venues in the South East (albeit very good ones) we thought another track can only help the diversity of racing and hopefully open up the catchment area of the drivers taking part in the region.
When we first arrived at the track in January 2007 to assess what could be done, we were more than a little overwhelmed by how overgrown the area was. We followed this with surprise at how much of the track was in good condition, and then excitement that this could actually happen. With tentative agreement from the new landlords we began some exploratory work and, having seconded the help of many volunteers, the really enjoyable but extremely hard work began.
After 9 weekends of slog the track was completely raceable, with a renovated rostrum and race control. Okay, it's not fully up to the days of the British Grand Prix back in 1998 but we'll get there. There is still some cementing to do as well as lots of painting plus building a full scrutineering hut but all this is planned out for this year. The weeds are an ongoing battle!
We couldn't have made this happen without some VERY important people. Thanks to:
Ian and Jane Benfield, Duncan Benfield, Craig Darnley, David Church, Paul Sykes, Roger and Darren Brayshaw, Ryan Coxall, Stuart Band, Ian Boulter, Nick David, Andy Turnbull, Jon Pick, Ian Boulter, Steve Andrews and many others.
See you at the raceway soon,
Matt, Steve and Alex.

Transponders
We are currently running and AMB20 system which means we can't yet support PT's. However we are saving for the price of a new decoder. We should have this next year!
Rules
We aren't ones for being stuffy! After all this is a hobby and is supposed to be fun. The main things are to listen out for PA announcements, check your race order, frequencies, (unless you're on 2.4) listen out for your race, be on the line in good time and don't forget to marshal.
Remember, it's your fault if you crash, no shouting at marshals and keep the language clean - have fun!
Track layout
We are able to run a host of different and layouts and run in a clockwise and anti-clockwise direction. The track surface is made up of astroturf, tarmac and concrete. Lap times are about 23 or 24 seconds.
We'll soon be adding a full drawing of the overall layout so you can see the options we have. If you have any suggestions for layouts at the meetings just let us know and we'll try and accommodate. Also, if you are a newcomer or junior, do let us know if you are finding the tracks too difficult to learn or you're not having fun. Again we'll try and accommodate your views.

Sponsorship
We are always looking for sponsorships for the Raceway to help us invest in and improve facilities. Sponsorship opportunities could include track-side advertising, one-off race meeting sponsorship, track area naming or just small donations. Please contact us if you would like any information.
